Branding Your Small Business

You may not think that an interior design firm can help your small business with their branding, but that is exactly what we do! Branding takes place as soon as the customer hears your business’ name, visits your company’s website or walks into your store. The interior design firm works on branding from the outside in with designs and aesthetics, but what are the things a business owner can do to brand from the inside out?

Keeping your logo, tagline, business cards, website, letters, brochures, etc. consistent with the company’s colors and the chosen typeface is very important for increasing a company’s brand recognition. Hiring an expert might be necessary to make sure that that the image and the message your business begins sending out is homogenous with your designs and the general feel of your business. This might mean more in upfront costs, but in the long run, your business will be clear in its direction and that can save you lots.

Continually send press releases to the media and regularly post them to your website. If you have a blog, write in it often, get involved in social media and stay in touch with your customers.  Get involved in a charity and participate in local and national industry trade shows or conferences.

Branding your business is the way to remind customers about who you are and what you do well. Name recognition is instrumental in developing that perceived value of your business. Then, when you have loyal customers, your business’ name will resonate with the actual value your business offers.

Mulberry Store on Bond Street – Unique Design at Its Best

The Mulberry Store on Bond Street in London has become the talk of the design community. The store itself is meant to sell Mulberry products, but what most people are sold on is the unique design it has from every angle. The interior of the space is made to be as open and flexible as possible, featuring glass elements all around. There is an additional element of transparency in some of the display stands because they are made out of simple structure beams. At the Mulberry Store, you see everything.

The Mulberry Store on Bond Street is one of the most modern spaces in London, and it pulls much of its inspiration from an art gallery. The lighting in the space highlights all of the displays as if they are art pieces, not just simple sales displays. Many of the shelving systems are back lit to create that art gallery feel, but the flow is still informal enough to encourage visitors to shop as they want to. There is plenty of walking space for people to move around, and the stand alone shelving in the middle of the walkways can be viewed from all angles. This is art and fashion brought together in one.

In terms of the design of the Mulberry Store on Bond Street, that was done through a two year collaboration with Universal Design Studios. They wanted to create an entirely new look for the store that would be flexible enough to be used for many years to come. Even if the brand changes its essence, the store can still fit the brand well. The elements inside are natural, eco-friendly, and aesthetically pleasant from every angle. If you get a chance to go in the store, you are likely to look at the design of it just as much as the products within.

From the polished brass to the white lacquer surfaces, there is something unique about the Mulberry Store on Bond Street that makes it stand the test of time. It is as contemporary as can be, but it will likely be just as hip and edgy 50 years from now. The Mulberry brand is known for being tasteful, simplistic, and well ahead of its time. The design in this building depicts that perfectly. This is one of the most incredible design developments of the last decade, and hopefully it can inspire more modern designs in the future.
